Budget Template

No budgeting app understands the med student journey so I built one that does.

Budgeting Apps Don’t Work for Us

🚩 Apps assume you have an income.

🚩 Categories are messy, irrelevant, or confusing.

🚩 They give you more noise than clarity.

🚩 As med students, we need a tool that reflects our reality: expenses piling up, limited (or no) income, and the pressure to stay on top of every dollar.

Built for the Med School Journey

✅ Pre-set categories that actually fit the med student lifestyle.

✅ Easy-to-read dashboard so you know exactly where money goes.

✅ Setup page that customizes your budget to your goals.

✅ YouTube walkthrough video so you’re never stuck.

✅ Designed through trial and error to be the best version yet.

“Yes, You’ll Have to Input Expenses. That’s the Point

Manual Entry ➡️ Clarity ➡️ Financial Control

  • Apps are built for people with jobs and steady income. That is not the reality of med school. They end up confusing, cluttered, and do not give you the clarity you need. This template is simple, intentional, and designed for a student budget with little to no income.

  • I have pre-loaded categories that cover every major expense you will encounter in med school from tuition and rent to coffee, textbooks, and travel. The goal is to make it as plug and play as possible.

  • Do not worry. You do not need to be a spreadsheet wizard. I built this with drop downs, clean formatting, and simple inputs. Plus, I walk you through the setup with a step by step YouTube video. If you can type in numbers, you can use this.

  • Most free templates are generic and not designed for the unique financial journey of Canadian med students. This one was built after years of trial and error in med school. It is the best version yet, tested for exactly the challenges you are facing.

  • That happens. The point is not perfection, it is progress. Even if you only update once a week, you will still see where your money is going and build the awareness that apps cannot give you.

If you want extra accountability, you can join my monthly budget group called the Cash Flow Clinic (see tab) where students come together to review budgets, share lessons, and stay on track. The effort is small, the payoff is huge.

  • If you try the template for a few months and decide it is not helpful, I offer a no questions asked return policy. I am not here to make you regret your purchase. The whole point is to give you clarity and control, not stress.

Clarity starts TODAY

Every day you delay, your money keeps slipping through the cracks. Start now, get control, and carry that clarity with you through med school and beyond.
